Cochin Wing- dragging on floor.

Hi There Everyone,

Just been outside to find my cochin hen's wing is dragging on the floor.

Can't feel any breakages and its still warm so I'm guessing blood is still flowing.

Have tried to put a saddle on but its not quite holding it up. But has stopped her falling over on it.

Shes been poorly for a few days. But shes eating and drinking.

They've been spending alot of time in the house as they haven't wanted to come out in the snow. Wonder if perhaps she's been fighting.

What can I do to help?

Is there anything a vet could do?

Any suggestions?

Shall I put her in the green house out the way of the others?

Theres no wounds or any other problems on her.

She's usually a real healthy bird.

She's only 18months old.

Hope someone knows what I can do??

I'm sorry about your hen, and that you haven't had any answers... the only thing I can suggest is maybe to separate her, give some extra protein like scrambled eggs, keep her warm and just watch. Chickens share everything, especially diseases, so if she's injured or ill in a non-disease kind of way you can tell quickly because none of the others will develop symptoms. Good luck.
