since im just starting im thinking 100-150 max and would spend more as i get experience

Let me do some research and get back to you. If that’s your budget, and if you want to just get experience, any model with good reviews might work for you.

Most bread machines are around $60. There might be Labor Day sales, but I got mine for $40 at Sears at Christmas time. Honestly, it’s more about what you want the machine to do. There are so many funky settings. Even without a sourdough setting, you can use your bread machine for sourdough on the French bread setting.
Most machines are more tall than long, so I think the biggest hurdle will be, if that bothers you, finding one that makes a longer loaf.
There is nothing wrong with getting one from a secondhand store.

The physical dimensions might be important.

I had to turn my bread machine sideways so that I could open it without the lid hitting a cupboard. Low clearance on my countertops.
