Cochins as meat birds?

I know cochins were originally Asian meat breeds. I'm getting some cochin chicks this Sat. and I will likely end up having to cull and eat excess roosters unless I can find enough 4-H kids who want show cockerels or for their own flocks.

Now I know that they mature slowly (cochins, not 4-H kids) but what would be a reasonable age to slaughter them? What % protein should I be feeding them? They would be pastured/free range meat birds though not truly "free range" more like in a large grassy pen.

Has anyone else eaten cochins or crossed them with another breed for meat like Cornish or Delawares?
