cochins mixing?

I want to put some cochins in with some RIR's I have just bought. does anyone think this is doable?

You can mix pretty much any kind of chicken with pretty much any other kind of chicken, especially if they're raised together from chickhood. All of the problems you might have with a mixed flock are pretty much the same problems you could have with a flock that isn't mixed--for example, feather picking or bullying behavior. If you are introducing new birds to an existing flock of adults, follow the normal procedure for introducing new chickens. Quarantine any adult birds you acquire for as long as 2 months before adding them to your flock to avoid introducing disease or parasites to your coop, then allow the new chickens and the old chickens to see each other without contact--i.e. through a fence. Then proceed to supervised together time, usually while free ranging works best. Once they're comfortable with each other, you can put them all in together.

If they're still little chicks, just put them into the brooder together and keep an eye on them to make sure everyone is behaving. If anyone is picking on another chick, remove the instigator until things calm down.
