Cochins on the way!!!

I have 15 cochin chicks on the way and I was just wondering out of curiosity how big of a space they'll need. I have a brooder box that is about 4 1/2 feet long and 2 feet wide. It is also 2-3 feet tall. When they out grow that I have a puppy pen that I'm going to set up in my room for them. Then when they out grow that their going in with the big chickens. Is this a good plan?

What kind of puppy pen?

Is it one of the fold up play yard type?

I use one for mine, you are going to need to put some chicken wire on it because they can get through the bar spacing.

I can snap a photo of what I did if you want.

They work GREAT!!

I used Zip Ties to hold the wirer onto the puppy pen.

It has worked and is working great for both batches of chicks that have come through our house.

No problem!! That is cool. Yeah I have a feeling that it won't take them long to out grow their first brooder box.

Actually my two, the Blues in the photos are growing slower then my Buff and Americana.

But, I just have two not 15
