Hm, not hurting sounds pretty good, but is it worth the extra work? Orpingtons are gentle, too...

Feathered feet really aren't that much work, occasionally you just have to give them a quick foot bath every few months.

Never had a problem with SLM so have no opinions on how hard they are to get rid of on Cochins.

Well they have beards on their side. Ameraucanas and EEs. They also have perfectly round tails and they have beautiful innocent looking faces.

Apples and oranges guys I’m hands down a LF Cochin girl, but ours lay quite well compare to some I have heard of and have the absolute nicest personalities. I have some project lavender Cochins that are almost more like a cross between Cochins and the Orpingtons and I see the draw, but I’ll stick with my beautiful girls. They keep their feathered feet surprisingly clean, even after kicking it in the mud. They aren’t prone to obesity in the least in my experience - I’ve had Faverolles and Marans chunk up much more. They’re all fluff

The only purpose would be cuddles, which I can get from my awesome little EE all day every day!
