Like four or five years ago, I had a bantam orp get killed while defending her eggs. She managed to save her eggs while sacrificing her own life. This was before I had an incubator so I gave the eggs to a bantam cochin who adopted them and raised then as her own. I don't know whether that story is sad or happy but I'm sharing it anyway.
