I just did a quick search. According to the first thing that popped up on google, they're not very good at producing eggs. :(
Guineas? Yeah, they lay more like songbirds do -- during the spring and summer.
As I said, they're more wild than chickens -- they haven't been bred to lay year-round.
Upsides... they're excellent alarms and are very alert, so they can help keep your flock safe.
They're also really good a cutting down the tick population.
Also, they look cool -- and their feathers are beautiful.
Problem is... they're pretty loud. They scream at a lot of things, and they don't really like people. One of my males actually attacked my legs a couple of times during mating season.
