Well, I mean, at least cochin are smart enough to not go in the rain, unlike some orps I know......

You live on Bainbridge, right? Well, it's a little drive away, but near Sequim is a really good place called "Coastal Farm and Feed." It's where I got mine, and they are awesome, healthy, friendly birds.

You've clearly never had a cochin. They perch on your shoulder, wait for you to come in and cuddle. Run over as fast as possible to jump on your lap. Jump on your back anytime you bend down. Love to snuggle, and are sweeter than sugar.

My Orp does go in the rain, but she's hardy enough to not even care

Okay, but like, look at this pure floof.

That is a good-looking, exhibition quality Cochin hen. But not very good/functional for keeping outdoors. Indoors is what keeps her looking so good.

Papa's Poultry has some nice birds and they have a good shipping record. Carolina Rare Chicks is another good breeder. I have decent birds. lol
