What's kolachi?

It's a traditional Slovak Christmas pastry, consisting of a yeast dough being rolled up around a filling. There are a few different kinds, but the ones that I hear about most often are the poppyseed kind and the walnut kind.
We just started making it again last year -- I'd like to turn it into a tradition again.
