I come home to see all my birds out of their cages sitting on the parakeets house and once again she escaped i need to get a smaller cage but none of them bother eachother they actually sit together. But they are still a little shaky. The male is still the same. I found a breeder who wants to trade him for a white face.

the male tiel keeps biting and and pecking the female i dont understand one second he wants her to breed the next hes so mean.

Maybe that's all he wants her for then when they are not breeding he wants nothing of her. My birds free roam all day and night. They are caged to sleep that's it. Sometimes I find my tiel in all types of places. My conure like to snuggle under my blanket and the lovebird is always on time of the cage. Too funny these guys, so much personality.

maybe i mean if i put a nest box she doesnt even mate she just lays eggs and sits on them.

Oh really, my button quails just started laying fertile eggs again. Excited cause now I can hatch more.

My sun conure Charlie learned his first words. He says "kiss" and then gives you a kiss lol it's too funny and cute! Here's a recent pic of him fluffing up.

Hey all! Thought I would share a few picture of my boy, Shelby....and also ask for a bit of advice.

Shelby is about 10 years old. He wasn't originally my bird when we got him. He was supposed to be my mom's and my sister's pet. But over the years they both sort of lost interest, while my interest grew! The only problem: Shelby hates me.

That sounds mean, but it's true. Shelby absolutely adores my sister- anytime she walks by he cat calls at her. x) But my sister is extremely sensitive to shrill noises, and she pretty much hates him because he's noisy. Shelby doesn't care for my mom, doesn't like my dad, and doesn't care for my brothers either. He loves it when strangers come into the house though! He sings and talks for them....and then there's me. He hates me. x) Anytime I come near the cage, he starts hissing and telling me off. If I reach into the cage to pick up, he starts panicking and flapping about. Once I do get him to step onto my finger, he's okay. But after a minute he'll jump off and start flying. He will not learn tricks from me or perform any tricks he knows. He doesn't care for treats.

I love this little birdy, but he just hates me. And I'm the only one here that will handle him now. So it's a little depressing. x) Still, I think he's gorgeous, and he's very smart! He can bob his head up and down (while singing "up and down, up and down"), cat call, do kisses, scream at the top of his lungs on command....x)....he can also beep (dialing the phone), ring (the phone ringing), and then say "hello". He pretty much taught himself that. He can give kisses...his favorite game to play if he's on a table is fetch. You give him a pencil, he picks it up and throws it off the edge of the table, and then the human gets to fetch it for him. x)

Anyway...he's a cute little guy. If any of you have any ideas or similar experiences with a cranky cockateil, I'd appreciate knowing anything that worked for you!
