Cockateils Thread- Albino-Pearl-Pastel-Silver and so MUCH MORE!!!!

I seperated the male and female cockatiel today he kept bugging biting bothering her so i seperated them the female finally has the chance to go to the food dish without the male coming and beak slamming against her. I left him with the parakeet and both dont seem to mind eachother and are doing pretty well. The female is alot happier now she is calmer and she picked up biting method from him but i hope it wears off eventually. She loves to bee petted on the head so i need to stop that for a while because if i pick her up she put her head down for scratches i like it but so often i dont think thats good. I want her to be a bit more active maybe get a couple toys. There is no sign of missing the other male she acts like he was never there! Ill see if i keep the boy or trade him ill wait and see.

not really its a table and the girl is on top the male and parakeet under. She seems happy he seems lonely but he always is mean to her and she avoids him. So they cant see eachother maybe hear if any of them squaks but other than that no. The boys cage is locked the girl is free to walk around. And he is unfriendly with me and her and anything. Its sad. I want to trade him but my parents arent very understanding.

yes right now the cage is side by side but it seems they have no real interest in eachother maybe the boy alittle but other than that nothing. Its sad. I tried everything they dont wanna eat anything instead of their pellets T-T i wish lady bird was on she knew alot!!

Robotpetz is right, Serama, get a plate of food outside the cage!!! Not inside, if you are eating ummm whole wheat bread then give them some on the plate, they love rice!!! Rice yellow but the best (healthyest) is brown rice, give it to them when its warm, they can eat almost anything that you can, just no salt or butter. Potatoes is good, sweet potatoes is very good for them. If they don't get the picture of eating with you, you have to teach them, just show them the plate and encouraged them to eat. Its not going to happen over night, but they will get the ideal sooner or later. When I switched food and gave them pellets mixed with seeds it took over an year for most of them to try the pellets lol its not human time, its parrots time when ever they feel like it.
They love popcorn, again no salt or butter, I gave an Easter basket full of popcorn, my teils just went crazy!! Lol about 15 of them was chasing each other to eating popcorn plus I would have one or two of them siting on the basket throwing the popcorn out while the other where catching it they had a blast.
Millit, all teils love millit, you could put that on a plate. It just takes some time to show them.
As for petting to much lol, don't worry give her all she wants!!!! She might not be the playful type but the loving type, that's great. As for your male let him out of his cage he isn't going to be friendly but you can build his trust, letting him get out of his cage, let him sit on his cage or were ever, then let him watch you, you can talk to him, hide your hands behind your back and talk to him, tell him pretty boy, whatcha your doing??? Keep your voice happy, in time he is going to repeat what you say to him, then just let him be, let him watch you do your own thing, he will feel like part of the flock with you, even though he wont let you pet him that's ok you have the female to love on.
I don't think they are going to be bonded, the male is to nippy for the female, its just best to keep them in different cage.
I hope this he:p
