Cockerel not mating hen ?

I have a pair of seramas I've had them for 4months The cockerel is not mating the hen and I'm hoping to have chicks but if the cockerel tries to mate the hen she runs away what's the problem.

I have a pair of seramas I've had them for 4months The cockerel is not mating the hen and I'm hoping to have chicks but if the cockerel tries to mate the hen she runs away what's the problem.

How old are they? Often the cockerels mature before the pullets who may not be interested in being bred yet. If that is the case, I would say give them some time and see what happens.
