Cockerel or advanced pullet?

They are supposed to be amberlink...they are from tractor supply.

I would cull him at 14-16 weeks then. He isn't going to get very big and he'll get pretty tough if you wait for more meat.

Oh, Amberlinks (or at least mine) are amazing layers...laying gorgeous dark/chocolate brown medium to large eggs EVERYday. A bit slower to mature, but not as slow as a Brahma, I'd say.
Anywho, everything Tractor Supply says about them on their Website I have found to be true. They really are fantastic birds.

Mine go to freezer camp around 14 weeks. Much older and they seem to toughen up.

Oh, this is fantastic! We bought eight to begin with, and I used the info on the TSC website to pick which one we wanted. I am so glad to hear that the reviews are true!
