Cockerel or just a hen getting ready to lay?

Hi, I have a RIR and her comb and waddle seems extra red and big but she doesn’t crow and is about 5 months old. I live in AZ so it’s hot here so I wasn’t sure if her comb was so prominent to help dissipate the heat here. There is no crowing and her size is that bigger than her other hen mates of the same age. My slightly older chickens are starting to play eggs, could this explain her big comb? Any thoughts? Thank you in advance for your opinions.
