So I have a 6.5 week old cockerel, and I have some questions.
1. When can I expect him to go through puberty?
2. What can I expect (behavioral wise) when he goes through puberty?
3. How long is the agressive teenager stage?
4. How do I let him know that I am the boss?*

Thanks all for your help.

*Everyone will have their different opinions on how to handle roosters. There will be NO ARGUING in this thread. Arguing will be reported, and may be removed from the thread. If you don't like the way some people handle their roosters, ignore them, or talk to them about it in a PM. Thank you.

1.) Mine usually begin starting to crow and getting interested in hens around 4-5 months, give or take.
2.) I haven't noticed any abnormal behavior when they age except for maybe they start bossing around hens and having occasional scuffles with other roosters. They also start mounting hens.
3.) I haven't noticed any more aggression per say in between cockerel and rooster.
4.) I've always just made sure I never acted skittish around my roosters. I also walk straight toward them and not around them if they are in my path, making them move out of the way. If they act aggressive towards me at all, I make a big step toward them and yell, "Hey!" really loudly. None of my three roosters are any sort of aggressive, so that has done the trick for me.
