Cockerel standing near hen in nesting box??

I decided to let everyone out to free range, except the baby chicks. While I was walking around the yard, I noticed Silver following Mouse into the big coop. After Mouse had settled herself in the nesting box, Silver stood right near her.
I knew they had bonded but I didn't think he'd actually follow her like this.

I checked on them a few minutes ago and they're both still in there.

Is this normal behavior for a cockerel??
Why is he doing this?

Normal behavior. Many if not most roosters/cockerels will select nest sites for their hens and escort them to these sites.

Ah, okay thank you! Just wanted to make sure it was normal.
Now he's trying to flirt with the other hens but failing

Have seen it happen maybe a dozen times....not consistent, but my birds are confined.
