Cockerel?

I got these photos this morning.
While the comb is smaller than all the brothers, I do think that it is a cockerel and I am just engaging in wistful thinking, especially since at 2 months old, the consensus was that out of my seven, there were 5 or 6 pullets.
Now it looks like only 2 are pullets.

Are they soft or thick?

Pointy hackle feathers are male, and he's a pale barred color, again male.
