I think I might have unintentionally trained my cockerels to let me know when eggs are laid.
Once I started getting an egg a day I started tossing treats out the back/kitchen door after collecting the egg (now eggs). I thought of it as a thank you, or peace offering (lol).
Now one or both cockerels will crow at the back/kitchen door when one of the pullets lay. Don't get me wrong they crow on and off throughout the day, but when they're at the door an egg has been laid.
This may backfire later since there are 13 pullets and only two are currently laying. I may need to cut down on the amount of treats per egg, lol.
