Sorry about the loss of your hen, but it seemed that she was very close to dying. Now, she is no longer suffering. It is always hard to lose an animal, especially when you have become so close to them. Do you have other chickens or pets?

I’m very sorry you lost your bird. You did not cause her death, you tried your best.

Two years ago I lost my favorite girl due to egg-binding, I gave her calcium but not soon enough. It took me awhile to realize I did not cause her death, but was simply unable to stop what was already in progress.
