cockroaches .. pix added on page 2

Yes in the research I did before getting the colony it seemed like those using them as feeders for reptiles had to be a little more careful what they fed them and it kept refering to "gut load", I was always intending them as food for chickens so I just feed cat food and throw a piece of fruit or veggie in there every few days. The like the fruits best veggies second then cat food (which I gind up I don't know if the babies can eat it when it is full size and only takes a few seconds to grind it) You could feed them to smaller reptiles just feed them the juveniles. You would just need to be more careful about numbers and making sure enough juvies made it to breeding age.

I may be able to ship a couple to you. I'd have to look into how to ship them, though.

I can't quite use a flat rate priority mail box. I think that's illegal, but a hisser with a heat pack would do great in one inside a yogurt container.

That would be great! Any info you can find would be helpful.

I just googled it. Others ship them priority mail flat rate in cardboard boxes. There is no regulation on shipping them. A yogurt container with an egg carton slot and a heat pack is all they need. some people just throw them straight into the box and ship it.

Just an FYI for those who are interested in shipping them.

I've been growing my colony since Oct. I only started w/ 75 so I didn't plan of feeding the girls until this coming winter, to allow the colony to get big enough to be stable while feeding the girls. Anyway today was clean out the bin day and the girls got there first taste, and they went nuts!!!!!!!!! You would have thought I was throwing down bags of crack in a crack house!!! Makes all the ewwww factor worth it.
