We brought home 3 new pullets a few weeks ago. Now about 15 weeks old. 2 plymouth rocks and one dark brahma. Everyone was fine until a few days ago when one of the plymouth seemed lethargic, puffed out, wouldn't eat or drink. She also started gaping. No wheezing, no rattling noise, does not seem to be in any distress. I called the woman we got them from and she suggested that it was likely to be cocsidosis brought on by the move/stress/new environment etc. I got Corid 20% from Tractor Supply, mixed up with electrolytes in water and gave her 2 syringes yesterday, actually saw pretty significant improvement in her behavior today, walking around, eating, scratching, but definitely not up to full speed yet. Gave her more syringes to be sure she was getting liquid and corid but she is still doing the gaping. Could it be associated with the cocsidosis or should I be treating for something else as well? thanks all!
