I have heard that to cure soft eggshells you use cod liver oil. How much? And how often? Is there a preferred way of administering it to the chicken, like in her food?

Ask not why the chicken crossed the road, but why the road got in the way of the chicken.

I've heard that spraying cod liver oil on their feed will add the vitamin D that helps them absorb calcium. That should help with their soft shells. I also give yogurt, which has both calcium and vitamin D.

You should put 1-2 Tablespoons organic apple cider vinegar per gallon of water. The ACV should be with the "mother" in it. Use a plastic water, not metal. Do a search on apple cider vinegar. There are lots of good reasons to use it.

You should also put a separate dish of oyster shell for your chickens to eat. They know if they need extra calcium and will eat it. Plain yogurt also helps.
