Most, if not all the caffeine in fresh coffee grounds leave the beans during the brewing process.

The spent grounds are an excellent source of "green" material for use in composting.

Coffee grounds are about 2% nitrogen by volume.

Yup - there's not much of anything left in coffee grounds - they aren't particularly acidic either - the brewing process strips a lot from them.

One of my chickens absolutely loves coffee grounds. I put them under my blueberries as fertilizer, so for some reason this one chicken always goes for the coffee. Dose it affect the flavor of the eggs?
