So I’m impulsive and put 6 Coturnix eggs in the incubator along with my cousin’s chicken eggs. Chicks are due the 18th; Quail are due the 20th. Would I be able to keep them together even just for a week or so? Or would the size difference be too drastic?

I would not as the chicken chicks can really hurt the quail chicks.

There is a “White House on the Hill”YouTube video where they combine the regular coturnix chicks with button quail chicks and the larger ones severely injured the little ones (removing toes and beaks). It was horrific! So much so, I don’t even want to put the link up here.

I did have a lone chicken hatchling one that I once raised with the some much older button quail chicks. He was their size when he joined them. As he got bigger, they would use him as a momma and try to squirm underneath him…so cute. He was gentle with them. I still separated him at 4 weeks to go outside to be with other chickens (he was protected behind a gate) until they acclimated to each other, but it really took another 2 months before he did not seem like a loner out there and realized he was a chicken.
