This is why I love BYC so much! I've learned so much in just this one thread! I had no idea that so many breeds had 5 toes! THANKS!

I've not hatched any yet, but will be encouraged to in the Spring. They are way too cute to resist!

Keep us updated with pics. It will be nice to find out what they are.

Is it important to warm up chicks slowly or does it matter? I have one now in the house that chilled and I have been going at it slowly. Should I just warm it right up? Seems like with people we warm them slowly? Can't remember, all my patients are qutie HOT and very pregnant.

I've always warmed them up slowly, so they don't go into shock as their blood warms and hits their heart.
