Cold Chicks?

I have almost 4 week old chicks. I went into the coop tonight to close the windows and they were all sitting in a corner sleeping. I've never seen them do this before. It's around 79' in the coop which i thought was warm enough...but maybe not b/c when I turned on their heat lamp they all started moving around. Another light was on before that so it's not that they couldn't see.

Also, is it possible for the heat lamps to start a fire, or shouldn't i worry about that too much?

We turn our lamps back on at night because it is still a bit chilly at night here. Keep the light bulb far enough from things that can catch fire and you have no worries. Also make sure there are no other animals around that can knock it over - that can be a disater!

Here is a picture of my pullets when they were younger. It was very cold out so I put 3 heat lamps on for them.
