so yesterday it was single digit temps and i saw 2 of my anconas shivering. corralled all 6 ducks back into the coop and put in a heat lamp. they stayed in there all day even with the door open, we left the light on and shut the coop over night. this morning they didnt want to come out even with trying to coax them with worms. once i forced them out they went right to the food like they havnt eaten in a day or 2 and they probably havent. my question is are ducks smart enough to realize there is food out side and they can come and go into the coop as wanted? ill give them credit its the first time we have done this.
