Ok I have 4 hens that went broody. 2 hens hatched eggs about a week ago. The other 2 eggs are hatching now. 1 hen has 1 chick and 2 more eggs the other hen had 3 eggs but one chick died and one egg got kicked out and was cold yesterday I put it back but I think it was out to long. Well this morning I went out and the hen was off the nest. She was in the other nest with the other hen and her one chick. The egg was cold. I candled the egg and the chick was still moving a little. It was in the air cell. Is there any hope for the egg the to hatch? I put it in the incubator. Thanks

It will most likely hatch. I have had mothers walk away from their eggs for 6+ hours and the chicks still hatch.

Thanks. When I got home both hens was off the nest. The 2 eggs in the nest was cool. I put them in the incubator too. All 3 eggs in the incubator are alive I can hear them chirping. If they hatch I will just give them back to the hens. Only one chick is with the two hens but I have other chicks running around with their mama's. I hope they hatch because one hen has no chicks. She is trying to be mama to the one chick with the other hen. Crazy chickens. If she would have stayed on her nest she would have chicks

I have gave chicks to broody hens before. I hope she will take them. One of them has no chicks so I'm sure she will take them.
