Cold Eggs - Duck taken.

I have a similar situation. Had one gosling hatch then the 2 mommas got off the nest leaving 8 eggs. They must of been off most of the day as he was completely dry and fluffed up while the eggs were cold. Put him and the remaining eggs in the incubator overnight. 2nd egg just pipped. All the eggs are well developed. You should get most to hatch.

How long was it between you setting them in the incubator and your first pip?

I’m hoping mine are close. Just makes it harder not knowing the exact dates.

Do you think candle and go into lockdown tonight regardless? Or wait until I see an internal pip and then go into lockdown?

On my previous hatches I didn’t ever see any internal pips.

Yup. Placed them in an incubator on Saturday as soon as I realised.

Mum was taken and two of our chickens. Probably a fox.. found the feathers but nothing else. We’ve not had any losses for 13 years, awful time for her to be taken though, when she was so close and she’d been so dedicated to her eggs.

So sorry to here. Hopefully the eggs make it.

sad! Good mama!

Sorry.. me again.
I have left the incubator alone.
Saw lots of wiggling yesterday. I thought today there might be an external pip, but nothing and not wiggling like yesterday. Is that concerning?

I’m just worried because I didn’t turn the eggs as I wasn’t sure of exact hatch date… I thought it would be sooner. Will it hurt that they’ve gone longer without any turning?

Thank you in advance
