Cold front moved in, power went out - poor chilly chicks!

Mine is really a rabbit cage, about 15 inches by 36 inches. I have a small roost on either end, and the light is on the left side roost. I used cardboard to make a solid wall around that end, and left the other end open. The roof is also open to the air.

What I've done is take a towel to insulate the lighted side, all but the a bit to let in the heat lamp light. I took an old cloth shower curtain and covered pretty much the rest of it last night for them. This morning, once the sun was up, I uncovered part of the non-lighted side for a little air circulation.

I do have lots of bedding in there, and they seem OK either on the bedding or up on the roost (a little closer to the light). One of them will fly on top of the feeder, too!

I think they'll be OK.

Their big coop is going to be finished this weekend, and they'll have a comfy upstairs to hang out in. I'm going to try to figure out how to rig up the heat lamp for them in it.

Poor little peeps - I don't even want to let them out on such a chilly morning, and yet I won't be home till after dark... so they might not get yard time today.
