Cold snap + warmth in run?

Wow, really? I read a lot of things that advise it. The whole time I thought I was helping them and now I feel really bad. They sell an ointment at Tractor Supply specifically for that as well.

What do you mean by hands off? Like.. do not touch their wattles?

Thank you, @aart

I have too..... but have also read a few that proved it doesn't.
I saved this one, hopefully the quote will take o to the post.
- Vaseline on chickens in Quebec = the combs are sure to get frostbitten. The salve adds moisture to the skin instead of protecting it, so covering the single combs of my birds with it during particularly cold nights is a very bad idea. If there is a way to protect single combs with Vaseline without icing them over, I have not found it.

Don't touch their comb and wattles.
Not to apply goop to try to prevent FB.
And especially do not touch frostbitten tissue.
