We’re about to hit a cold snap here in Texas and we’ll be getting plenty of snow and ice.

After last year’s freeze, we have some cold chicken keeping skills under our belt.

We will actually be moving the chickens into a large exercise pen in our garage so they can stay warm but contained. We’ve done it before and it worked quite well, besides the terrible smell. :lau

They will continue to get their regular feed and care and everything, but I was just wondering if there was anything else I could do.

Thank you and stay warm and safe!

I forgot to mention, but the pen is relatively small when enclosed, so any boredom busting ideas for chickens is completely welcome!

If it is just a day or two, I wouldn't think boredom would be an issue as they will be exploring and maybe confused ;)

We get negative numbers regularly and I dont do anything special, except give electrolytes like @aart said. We are -14 deg F here today with a feels like temp of -24, and I didnt do anything extra.
