I know it isn't that cold down here in Miami,

but if our girls are use to higher temps will the colder temps put a halt on egg production?

there are free rangers and they are chochins.

Just curious?

thanks and happy new yr to all.

I noticed that isn't stopped our goose from laying 1 every 3 to 4 days.

I spoke to my Dad in central Florida yesterday and he was none too happy.
I think your birds should do fine, maybe a slow down for a day or two.
Honestly, y'alls cold isn't going to last long enough to cause any major upset.

BRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR

Wow...for you guys, that IS pretty cold...seriously. Here's my non-expert take: Animals react to change in different ways...temp. changes, new territory changes, new animal in the picture changes, etc. So I guess I would think it's possible that a cold snap (cold for you guys) could upset a hen's normal laying cycle. I don't think 40ish temps in itself would do it for most birds. But a cold snap combined with less light at this time of year anyway...??? Hopefully some experienced folks will chime in.

Well thanks for the input, I went out (with my jacket) loh.... to check and got one egg. I always count my blessings. Got 2 hens that can lay, and one that's still brooding.

Got to break her. I'm thinking its the weather, and time of yr.

soooooooo Jealous. I can't wait for the temp to hit 40 again I have my shorts ready.

team guava pastry, every time you post I start thinking about a trip to Lila's Restaurant, a platter of paper-thin steak smothered in french fries; some platanos maduros on the side. I wouldn't mind a cup of cafe con leche either.

Someone told me Lila's closed. How sad is that!

Stinking hamburgers for supper tonight.

Sorry for the bad news, the whole shopping center was tore down. From Kmart all the way around to Jbyrons. No more lilas.

Sorry:(

But you can still get a cafe con leche just about anywhere
