Do you put lights inside the chicken coop to keep the chickens warm when temperatures are in the teens. I know that chickens like it really dark when they are sleeping and I don't want to disturb my girls while they are sleeping. Is there another way to keep them warm in the winter? Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

God gave them feathers to stay warm... I'm wishing mine were featherless about right now. (It's 110 out there and the girls are surrounding the waterer in the coop panting)

Unless you are somewhere where it goes below zero, they should be OK.

We go below zero and I don't have a heat source in any of my coops. Now if I'm brooding chicks in one of the coops during the winter I hang a heat lamp for them, but with any fully feathered birds I don't provide heat.
