Cold weather

Here's a question...I was thinking about running a light out to the coop since it's in the 30s/40s now, but only b/c I have a group of 6-wk-old chickens that have bald spots still. Is this still unnecessary or should I give them a little extra care since they don't have as many feathers as everyone else.

Yesterday it was 55,now its 15. The high today is supposed to be 60 with a low tonight of 20. Tommorrow calling for 70 with a low of 25.

Same for Colorado. Yesterday it got up to mid-high 60's during the day, 20's at night.

I guess my point was that it hasn't been a steady 70°F all summer, then all at once it drops to 20°F and stays there. The birds have been adjusting naturally to the temperature swings on a daily basis. They are probably just fine even with those temperature swings.
As for the 6 week olds, if it's getting that cold, I would give a little heat until they're fully feathered, then wean them from it.

I have 6-7 week olds with a broody. The eggs where hatched in a open cage with a nest box in it. Momma has moved the chicks out to the yard and run even though I keep a heat lamp burning if they need it. Temps in the 50-60's at hatch. Now temps running 35-35. The broody and chicks bunch together a couple times a day. So much for the -5 degrees a week.

I can say my chickens (etc.) don't mind the cold much at all (was 15 degrees this am) but they DO NOT like the cold when there is WIND involved.
We had winds up to 60mph yesterday, they did come out now and then, but they didn't hang outside all day like they normally do.
