Cold Winters and Hot Summers

Did you get the smaller $200 and something dollar one? Or the bigger close to $400 one? I think the thread starter is going for the bigger one.... you should tell him if it's even worth upgrading to the bigger one and if it's even that much bigger than the small one.

Shamo you are correct. I do have the smaller one (are you watching me :barnie) my mistake.....although for the same price I would definitely opt for the larger coop which would work fine for the op’s five birds.

One thing I forgot to mention is snow will NOT slide off of the asphalt roof. With the Idaho winters you will have to be vigilant about removing the snow load due to the light construction/framing of the TSC coop.

I also have that same coop from tractor supply and it is not big enough for four large hens. I use it as temporary coop for chicks before the make it to the big pen.

The biggest problem with that coop is it is SO light that I have to strap it down to keep it from blowing away in wind storms. FYI I also live in ID.
Thank you for the info I just bought a coop today it is not one of the ones I showed you guys but if you want I can give you more info on it. I finally decided to just get one and I think the one I got will do just fine.
