I figured I'd keep a running thread about the incubation and growth of my new eggs.

I purchased 20 eggs from willow_lane early this week.

I made a homemade incubator this year.

Had one successful hatch of chicken eggs, unfortunately my kitty reverted to her past life of a tiger.

Poor Lil Chicky's didn't have a chance.

-----------------------------------
I put the eggs in last night.
Today is day 1. My humidity was 50% before I left for work, this morning.
Lock down should be April 1st.

In the meantime, my husband and I are getting ready to build a hutch.

I'll update with pictures!
Next update will be day 7,

I grabbed the direction from the boards.
Thermostat, light bulb, computer fan, water wiggler. I have a container in the bottom for water.

Thanks! My humidity levels seem to be doing good so far.
Just called my DH and asked if he would check on it today.
I read that the game birds need a high humidity.

Update:
Last night was day 11.
I pulled 4 eggs last night that were infertile.

A couple ones I could see veins.
I'm excited for my Easter hatch!

Today is Lockdown!
Last night I added the extra tray for humidity and set everything up for the hatch.

This morning my hydrometer said 70%.
Just gotta wait it out!
Good thing I have a 3 day weekend!

Will take pics when something hatches!

Nothing all weekend. Arg...
My temperature dropped way too low when everything was in lock down. I chalk it up to a DIY incubator.
This morning I saw a little pip. The closest egg to the light bulb had some action.
I won't know anything until I get home from work tonight.

I wanna try again!!!!!!
Incubating really is addicting!
