Collecting eggs

We have a 1 gallon round bucket with a handle from tsc meant for feeding (not the flat back). It works well for distributing feed with a scoop.
After it's empty we take it back out and collect eggs. They roll around too much and don't stay organized. The handle is too swingy under light load (but perfect for feed).
For important eggs I'm going to hatch, we just collect by hand.

What I would love is a compartmented basket to divide by breed or by dirty/clean, with a longer somewhat stiff handle, lightweight in a pretty color!

We also seriously need an egg organization setup for after they are collected. Our counter is covered with motley containers stuffed with eggs.

I just stick them in the pocket of my bathrobe (don't judge me 😅 )
But I don't expect more than 4 a day. I get between 2 and 3.
I am sure though one morning I will squish one bending over, completely forgetting the eggs I stuck in my pocket a second before.
Been there done that-several times! That's one reason I'm trying to figure something else. Nothing like sticking my hand in a pocket and finding a hand full of egg 🤢

I currently use my pockets because I don't have enough to make a bucket worthwhile. I use a 5 gallon bucket in the summer time but it's not very convenient. My plan is to pick up a golf ball basket the next time I see one for cheap at a thrift store or a yard sale.

@saysfaa here you go.
