Collecting for Reintroduction to hen @ later time.. HELP

New Silkies are starting to lay and egg #2 is out there.. #1 got ?? opened/eaten.. not sure if it was another hen.. SO..
My plan is grab the eggs, wait til I have a dozen or so, then put back in nest under broody Silkie.

Any particular tips on the collecting/holding part of the process??? Room temps okay, or should it be outside temp? ETC (It's been so long.. I forgot! lol)

Room temp., turn daily - don't return them until the hen has been broody for 2 days.

Well...I ultimately had to get incubators..lol. MEANWHILE.. Miss Silkie Pants finally went broody 2 days ago...and I'm watching an eg hatch in incubator. Lol. (I poked 5 eggs under her so we'll see)
