If an egg gets cold in nest before collection is it still possibly viable? I went to get hatching eggs from my cousin who I've been buying all of my eggs from and the one egg layed today felt like it came strait out of the frige. I took the chill off with my hands and kept it at about 55* since. I need to hold it until I get at least 2 more eggs as this is going to be a test run before I buy any eggs. O and from what I've gotten from the flock to eat they are fertile, I've seen the "germ" in all of the eggs that I've paid attention to so other egg temp I don't think I have anything to worry about with hatchability other than the inevitable losses.

just let them sit on room temperature overnight before you put them in the incubator and you are good to go.

I can collect once a day but it in the mid 20s so I dont know if I want to wait another week or 2 and see if we get a little warmer I only need 3 or so eggs just seeing if I can get 1 or 2 to hatch before I spend money on eggs. We've run guinea eggs through the last 2 summers and nothing but I think that might have been collectors error. I'm hoping nothing is wrong with my bator. It's been pretty good to me and I've had alot of fun with it over the last 8 years although it has been neglected only running 1 clutch every year or 2. o well wish me luck and thanks for your replies.
