Collie guarding the babies **pics**

I put my babies outside yesterday and they spent their first night outside in the 'big girl' tractor. Patsy, our rough coat collie has been guarding them from day one, sticking her head in the brooder before I tended to them each time. Outside, she likes to watch them too and even stayed outside with them all night last knight. Thought you'd like to see them together:

That is too sweet! I wish our dogs would protect our chickens instead of trying to eat them...

The other cute thing is when she walks by the coop, they run to that side like they are trying to get to her to play. These are the first birds that I've had since I've had her. I think letting her interact with the babies from day one has been a real good thing for all of us. Of course, that is just my situation with my dog-it may be different for others and other breeds. I'm enjoying my 'baby chicken' experience so much; she adds a lot to my enjoyment.
