As far as I know, father was purebred Silver. My friend received Golden and Silver Braekel eggs from the breeder. She did hatch a golden braekel roo and I almost adopted him as well..it was hard deciding between the two. But ultimately, I liked the contrast of the white/black better. I thought it was more striking. I don't know who the breeder is but my friend spent a lot of money on her incubator and was very picky about who she got eggs from. If I remember right, her husband drove pretty far to pick the eggs up because of the guarantee that they were what the breeder claimed. The sire of these eggs was pure white/black with purple and green reflections in his tail. I suppose he could have been a cross and passed the golden color on but I would think that some gold might have leaked through in his feathering? But he was as white as his hatchmate was gold. He was definitely not a purebred Golden Braekel though I think you implied he might have been a cross with the white being dominant and the golden being recessive. I'll post some pics of the dad of the chocolate chick. I thought I had already but maybe not. The only other roo that could have fathered the chick is my FBCM and I just don't see that as a possibility at all anymore. There are no other roosters in my town...let alone my area as it's very suburban and technically, they're not allowed due to noise ordinances. I just have some really great neighbors. And even if there was a rogue roo somewhere, we have 8ft privacy fencing and the run is fully enclosed inside of that. So if another roo did somehow get in, I highly doubt it would be a rare golden braekel LOL But maybe I misunderstood you. Regardless, you confirmed my suspicions...he is indeed a little roo :/ Thank you! I doubt he'll be worth much as meat...maybe I can find someone to take him <3That's autosomal barring on the checks, but from the picture of your brown/chocolate chick his(it's a cockerel) the father is really not a Silver Braekel but looking at the pics again the rooster is a "Golden" meaning he has both the dominant sexlinked Silver(S) and the recessive sexlined gold(s+) in his make up, that cocholate chick is clearly gold based(s+/s+ one s+ from father and s+ from mother)
