What color would you say this bantam cochin cockerel is?

Thanks so much!

He sure is a VERY PRETTY little fella!!!!

I knew he wasn't a "recognized" variety - but lavender isn't a "recognized" variety either (I don't think?), yet it has a name. I was just wondering what might be in this guy's background so I can give him some sort of a description? I know he's blue, but I don't know what causes the creamy yellow coloring?

BTW, what genes are behind lemon blue anyway? I've seen many discussions about this, but it seems that there are many "versions".

Thanks PinkChick - I think he's rather handsome, too!

Let's put it this way then, he is not a recognized color. Lavender or self blue is a recognized variety for lots of birds, just not all of them.

He looks to be a mixture of blue and birchen.

Don't believe he's isabel; too many shades of gray, and the red isn't diluted enough. Kinda makes me think of gray Silkies (to my uneducated eye), but he may be a diluted blue with red leaking.

I believe a true lemon blue is a variation of Birchen.

He is a Blue Silver/gold split based on either Duckwing,Wheaten or Brown.
The second is a Blue Silver/gold split based on Birchen.
Neither will breed true.
