I posted this over on the silkie thread but I thought I might get a better idea from the experts over here. I also now realize that one of them might be a 'silver partidge', AKA grey.
What color are these silkies? They are almost 10 weeks old and hatched from cuckoo and BBS eggs. I'm pretty sure none of the BBS eggs hatched because they were marked as such but I could be wrong, obviously! (8 cuckoo eggs and 4 BBS). I don't even know what other colors can result from cuckoo breeding. I think black silkies are bred to cuckoos to improve skin color, right?
The cuckoo is behind one in question. Silver color in the neck, dark top?
This one is darker. Not black for sure...blue, Splash?
Just for fun here's the cuckoo.
Oh and of course you can tell me if you think they are boys or girls. I'm prepared...I think they are all boys. OTH, I just read that if it is a silver partridge it can be sexed by color like a regular partridge, right. And this on grey one could be a pullet? And just to make sure I have it straight, a partridge hen only has the gold(silver) coloring in the neck, the boys will have it across the shoulders and on the back?
Oh and the cuckoo has the pale pink comb and grey skin...a result of the cuckoo gene? Odd but really, really cute!
