I just picked up a little silkie hen and a silkie roo from a petting zoo that was going out of business. The roo is suppose to be the father of the little hen and he looks like a normal buff to me. The little hen looks "buffish" but she has a lot of blue going on. I looked on feathersite and I didn't see anything at all that looks like her. Any thoughts? Is she just a normal buff and I'm crazy? Could she be partridge? Any thoughts would be appreciated ( even if its to tell me I'm crazy ).

I have a couple partridge silkies and they are red and black, just like my cochins. I guess what was throwing me off with this little girl is that she looks buff and blue. No black on her anywhere. Partridge does make sense she just seems a little off.

Partridge can come in color forms like black, blue, lavender partridges. Instead of the standard Black plumage it is blue or lavender.

Thanks everyone. I still have a lot to learn about chicken color genetics. One day I am sure I will look back on this and laugh.

Here's my blue partridge... I had to ask what color she was

Yep, that's what my girl looks like. Thanks. Now I just wish I could figure out what the Cochin I got from the same place is. I have him posted in here too
