I am going to be picking Up a Black rumpless tufted roo and plan on breeding him over a Blue Hen what should be the outcome 50% Black 50%blue or Lav.

#2 how should I be Breeding My Duckwings

#3 I have 2 Duckwing roos, 1Black Roo ,1White Roo,1Colombian Roo

I also Have 3 BR hens,4white hens,3splash

What would be the best combinations

By and large you have completely left out the breeds, which is very important.

I assume by rumpless tufted you must be referring to araucanas.

Black X Blue will give you 50/50 of each. There can be no splash--each parent would have to contribute a blue gene, and lavender is an unrelated gene, so that also is not a likelihood unless both parents are carrying hidden lavender genes.

What BREED and VARIETY of duckwings?

What BREED of each of the varieties? THe only breed mentioned was BR, which I assume means Barred Rock (that would be the usual nomenclature), but the way you mentioned it I am wondering if that is what you mean?

"I have 2 Duckwing roos, 1Black Roo ,1White Roo,1Colombian Roo

What breeds?
What are the Duckwings, Silver,Red, Gold split, Melanized?
What is the genome of the whites & black?
Is BR Barred Rock,Brown Red, Black Red, Blue Red?
Not enough information

Oh, I am soo sorry They are all Rumpless Tufted Araucana

I am working on my breeding pen's as we speak , And I am just trying to figure out How I should Group such a Varity I will have 3 seperate pen's. I'm not Real sure on my Duckwing but if I had to guess I would say Very light brown and Gold, ( I am colorblind ) and maybe a little stupid too,I have managed to upload photos but can not seem to put them in any posts.

blue and lav are not the same thing. You will not get any lav unless you got some project birds from someone developing the color in that breed. The only person I know of that is working on lav araucana is hinkjc and she isn't sharing yet

and I assum the BR is a brn/red?

eta-unfortunately I have NO experience(or knowledge) with duckwing

how you set up your pens really depends on what you are trying to acheive.....

I am pretty much just trying to refine the colors I already have
(IE) If I put the black roo over the blue hen= 50% black 50% blue now I will be able to set up a blue breeding pen and a black breeding pen .

I'm just trying to figure out how to breed my multicolor birds, I have 3 or four Brown / red Hens and no BR Roos

White is all set

Duckwing crosses only seem to be giving me splash

Hopefully someone can tell me how to cross what I have and what I should end up with.

I have a black/duckwing roo over a splash hen and get blue/red offspring. The roo is not pure for the wild gene, but does show the gold leakage down his entire back and wings. His resulting offspring come in with red plumage on the males back. Female progeny have been anything from blue based with red to bbr coloring on top to straight blue coloring (which I'm sure is hiding something). lol

Mind you, this is not a breeding pen, just fun to see the outcomes.

FYI..duckwing and bbr wild type genes seem to work well together, but I am by far no expert on those color patterns. Hopefully someone else working closely with them could elaborate.
