mine has the black base like royal purples that first pic was in sun this one isn't. Was told its hard to get this much red in bronzes.

Ahh, sorry, sometimes pics never do Guinea colors justice, so I was going by what I could see from the pics.

I'd have to agree, since she has the charcoal grey/black based flank feathers that she is a Bronze, with good strong Bronze genes. I have seen only a few with this much Bronze coloring before, and they are usually Hens. So they are out there, just not that many. And my guess as to why the (highly bronzed) Bronzes just aren't all that common is due to there normally being so many mixed colors in backyard flocks that are penned/housed/free ranged together and breeding freely, not separated by color which results in the dilution of the coloring (same with the nicely dark colored Chocolates, which I am working on breeding more of). I also believe that diet can and does play a huge role in the color intensities of all Guinea colors (just like with all types of poultry)... a penned bird fed a diet with too much corn in it won't have the brilliant coloring that a well fed bird that's allowed to supplement it's diet with plenty of free ranging will.

Nice Hen, hopefully you have a decent Bronze male to pair her up with and are able to produce offspring with good strong Bronze genes as well.

i don't have a bronze rooster unless it is one I flip back and forth on this one the darker one is for sure a hen this one doesn't make any noise right now. Was told if I separate them now for a couple of months the hens will pair of to those roosters and not bred with other random roosters.

That's possible, but I would not count on it being a 100% sure thing unless they stay penned separately from the rest of your flock, are only free ranged separately from the other birds and never allowed to mingle the entire breeding season. In my flocks the male Guineas are ALWAYS opportunists and will breed whatever Hens they can as often as they can, and the Hens are floozies as well

If you really want to breed for specific colors then IMO/IME breeding pens and isolation from the rest of the flock/other colors are a must.

Do you have a Royal Purple male? If so, and you have one that shows at least little bronzing on his wings that would be my choice to match up with your Bronze Hen.
Sometimes The Guinea Farm in Iowa sells adult birds... but I don't think they ship adult birds and only allow local pick ups. Another breeder to contact would be Shady Hollow Farms, they are in Maine. Not sure where you are located.

No eggs right now from my flocks. My Hens usually stop laying mid or late Sept... after a couple months of 100+ degree temps. The males no longer bother breeding and the Hens decide to give up on laying eggs because it's just too miserably hot. My 1st timer pullets start laying in early January tho, with the older Hens kicking it into gear a month or 2 later, so I still have a decently long laying season.

I'm in Oklahoma have purple male no bronze in him. Most don't think I have purples cause they are so black.

If you can't come up with another male, then I'd use him and see how the hatches go. Who knows, with as much bronze coloring as the Hen has you may be able to tell sooner than later how "bronzy" the keets will turn out.
