I am down to a single chicken. ☹️ She is from a Marek's positive coop, but she is the healthiest chicken I've had. She is 7 years old, so I am looking for a similarly aged hen who was vaccinated for Marek's to keep her company. I do not want to keep any more chickens after this because of the presence of the Marek's herpes virus in my yard, thus I am not interested in young birds. The other option is that I would also be willing to give her to someone with a small flock that has also experienced Marek's. I live in Fort Collins, CO.

Someone on here was trying to rehome a mareks positive flock that lived in a CO park. Let me see if I can find the post.

Hi, I’m down to one hen, also, and am looking to rehome her. She’s a 5 year old blue copper Maran. She no longer lays eggs. I’m not sure what her Marek status is, but am willing to get her tested somewhere. I bought her from Northern Colorado Feed Supply on Hickory St here in Fort Collins as a chick. Please let me know if you are interested.

Hi! I live in Golden and work with a small aging flock that was also exposed to Mareks. I posted this thread last year, but there are still three birds remaining from the group:

The birds still looking for a home are the Dominique, the Black Ameraucana, and the Gold Laced Polish. We first became aware of them having Mareks in 2019, but they were likely exposed long ago. As such, they are all Mareks resistant and have lived long, healthy lives with it.
Their ages are between 7 and 11, but they still scratch, roost, etc very well and are very calm birds. They are pretty pampered and two of the three have been handled regularly throughout their lives and will squat pretty easily for you, eat from the hand, etc. The polish is a little more skittish, but we have been working with handling her and she is warming up quite a bit. It helps to give her mealworms after each handling. :)

I will DM you as well, but if you think you'd be interested, I'd love to chat!
