Yep, just give it time. Cuckoo Marans have big combs in general as a breed and they have to start growing them sometime! LOL!
Wendell, awesome job! But you forgot to mention the rocking chairs...........

Oh, and a sign that says General Store......

Ok I have a Cuckoo Maran question. Is is normal for this breed to have a larger comb at a young age? Here are some pics of my 2-3 week old chick I got from Elizabeth Feed. Her feathers are coming in the fastest of all three I got and her comb is growing the fastest too. Oh please tell me this is a pullet and I have nothing to worry about!

Even though sometimes cuckoo marans have the larger comb, I would say that at first sight, this seems like a boy, but the breed does tend to get their combs early. It's still too early as the little one could just be destined to have a big comb as its a hatchery chick and they often are not up to spec.

edit: I'll see if I can find a picture of some of my earlier hatches for comparison.

ROFL. You are reading my mind. Currently looking for two inexpensive wood rocking chairs. There will also be a sign , prpbably on the door, that says "Windy Ridge Dominiques Feed and Supply" or something like that.

If I go out with my gang and have some yogurt with me, watch out...... They have no dining manners at all. They jump on me trying to be the first to the yogurt. One day I went out to check things with my lunch in my hand, a hot dog sandwich. As I bent down to grab their waterer one jumped up and grabbed a bite of my hot dog. I wish I spoke chicken and knew what she said as within seconds they all were trying to get at my sandwich. Can anyone tell me how to teach my brood dining etiquette?
I'm a fan of the bucket method, here's a link with a good explanation: http://naturalchickenkeeping.blogspot.com/p/fermented-feed.html

My ladies were overjoyed this morning. They got half a piece of Easter cake (one of those egg shaped mini's from king sooper) and a bunch of raspberries.

I love causing joyful chaos in the run.

Ok so we set eggs evening of the 10th, now it's day 21 and we've got nothing, no pips or anything. There was a bit of rocking yesterday but now nothing. Should we be concerned?

Humm... I would be worried but then I tend to worry. They may have internally pipped and be resting, starting to absorb the yoke sac. Give them until tonight at least. If nothing happens I have a link around here somewhere to an awesome assisted hatching thread.
